On September 26th and October 3rd 2023, the Department of Physics, State University of Malang held an International Symposium on Renewable Energy and Sensor Science (abbreviated as ISRESS). This symposium is an essential platform for scientists, researchers, academics, and related stakeholders to share the latest knowledge, ideas, and innovations in the field of renewable energy and sensor technology.

This annual ISRESS Symposium aims to gain an in-depth understanding of the latest technologies that can help overcome global environmental and energy challenges. Various topics were discussed, including solar energy, wind energy, bioenergy, developing the latest sensors, and managing and storing renewable energy.

This symposium was attended by collaborative keynote speakers, namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Goh Boon Tong (Department of Physics, Faculty of Sciences, University of Malaya), Dr. Muhammad Safwan Abd Aziz (Director Laser Center, UTM Malaysia), Prof. Dr. Markus Diantoro, M.Sc. (Department of Physics, State University of Malang), Prof. Nandang Mufti, S.Sc., MT., Ph.D. (Head of PUI PT CAMRY UM). The event involved panel discussions, presentations of the latest research, and a question-and-answer session that allowed participants to delve deeper into issues related to renewable energy and sensors.

One of the main highlights of ISRESS 2023 is the presentation of the latest research in the development of renewable energy technologies. Scientists and researchers from various countries presented their research results such as high-performance solar panels, solar energy batteries, and related innovations in the field of sensors. This initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy technologies and detection sensor technologies worldwide. In addition, the latest developments in sensor technology have also received great attention. Advanced sensors that can be used in various applications, such as environmental monitoring, air quality measurement, medical applications and global temperature monitoring, are discussed in depth. These sensors are expected to provide more accurate and valuable data to support environmental monitoring and sustainability efforts.

The ISRESS Symposium is also a platform to promote international collaboration in developing renewable technologies and sensors. Participants will have the opportunity to build professional networks, share experiences, and identify cross-border collaboration opportunities that can help accelerate innovation in these two critically important fields.

During the closing of the symposium, various awards were given to researchers and scientists who have made extraordinary contributions to the development of renewable energy and sensory technologies. This award aims to recognize their efforts in creating a more sustainable world and solutions to the world’s energy and environmental challenges today.

The International Symposium on Renewable Energy and Sensor Science (ISRESS) is an invaluable platform for stakeholders worldwide to collaborate to address increasingly pressing energy and environmental challenges. With the latest innovations in this field, we are getting closer to the vision of a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
